Chiropractic Doctors Practice natural, drugless, non-invasive health care and rely on the body's ability to self-heal. Sounds ideal, but just how does it work?

This will show the spine, nerves, venous system, what a pinched nerve looks like, and much more information! "A picture is worth 1,000 words."
We look at the whole picture. Like other health-care providers, chiropractors follow thorough procedures to gain information about you, the patient. You'll have a consultation with Dr. Spear, the chiropractic physician, he'll review your complaint history, conduct an extensive physical examination and may order x-rays. Chiropractic physicians also conduct a careful analysis of your body's structure, spine, and joint motion. The spine is our specialty. We also ask you about your life— Do you eat well? Exercise at all? How do you deal with stress? Do you have children? What you do for work? And so on. We want an entire "picture" of you and your complaints.
We seek the origin of the problem. Using this information, a diagnosis is made. Included in the diagnosis is the probable reason for your pain or complaints. We use everything available to determine the origin of the problem in order to eliminate it. Your symptoms are important, but our focus is on treating the origin/cause of the problem, not only the symptoms.
Analogy/Comparison Example: If your roof is leaking, do you simply catch the drips in a bucket for years on end, or do you repair the roof to prevent it from leaking? Similarly, if your week-long migraine headache is being caused by misaligned/"stuck" spinal bone and an inflammed/irritated nerve, you'd prefer to correct the "stuck" spinal bone. This is a very simple example of a complex problem, but I hope you get the picture. We want to discover the main cause of your complaints, not only the side-effects/symptoms.
We correct/fix the origin of the problem. Chiropractic physicians have a term for misaligned bones & joints: "subluxations". A vertebral subluxation is a misalignment of the bone protecting your spinal cord. It's a "leak in the roof" or a "kink in the wiring" of your nervous system. The severity of the subluxation can vary, and there are a number of probable contributing factors: physical, emotional, mental, or chemical problems. The subluxation can be caused by any number of incidents, from birth trauma to an auto accident to simple repetition or over-use. We want to correct the cause of your complaints AND get rid of the side-effects/symptoms together.
We Utilize:
- An "Adjustment" or Spinal Manipulation to correct the bone & joint subluxations.
- AND
- Physiotherapy procedures such as Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Ultrasound, and Ice/Heat to reduce your pain & inflammation.
- AND
- Physiotherapy procedures such as Therapeutic Stretches & Exercises to strengthen your injured tissues & joints.
